Country Legends 106-9 is North East Kansas' favorite station playing the all-time country greats. Wherever you go, Country Legends 106-9 goes with you. And just like a good friend, we'll listen too.
We’re a family radio station with a positive attitude and believe in having fun. And like the stories of country music touch your heart, we think our commitment to you and your community sets us apart.
While playing music maybe our favorite thing to do, helping out our community is a top priority. Every year we do several fundraising events to help raise awareness and money for local charities right here in Northeast Kansas.
Even with all our efforts we couldn’t do all that we do without our amazing extended family, our listeners. They’re incredible people and year after year their generosity simply amazes us. We hope that they will never need help for the charities we support, but life is unpredictable. The efforts we make now will help them in their time of need.
The Topeka Rescue Mission is a homeless shelter which has served Topeka, Kansas for more than 60 years. TRM is dedicated to providing food, shelter, clothing, training and hope to homeless and impoverished men, women and children. In 2013, TRM sheltered 2,032 different people and provided more than 538,296 meals.
For the past 11 years, Country Legends 106.9 has hosted a local toy drive aimed at collecting donations of new toys and clothing for children who are homeless or in need.
At Christmas last year, the Topeka Rescue Mission assisted a total of 3,652 individuals which included 2,433 children. Items collected from local businesses all over the city of Topeka and surrounding areas are taken to the Topeka Rescue Mission where they are distributed throughout the community to those in need.
Without Country Legends Cares, many children would not have a present to open this Christmas. Thank you for caring.
